THIS FILM FOR PEACE AND SOCIAL JUSTICE, POSITIVE CHANGE, AND POLITICAL
REFORM
Let My Country Awake chronicles
American opposition to the 2003 war on Iraq. Filmed in San Francisco,
New York, Washington and Los Angeles, this documentary features congressional
representatives, political activists, celebrities and concerned citizens.
The film reveals dramatic predictions for consequences now being felt
as a result of the Bush Administration's rush to war.
The film was created in response to blatant unbalanced reporting
that mis-represented the actual extent of opposition by millions of Americans in concert with millions worldwide,
to the Bush administration's rationale for war. In the film,
Julian Bond exposes the early lies of the Bush administration and calls
for regime change at home. Angela Davis attacks Bush's pre-emptive strike
policy. Desmond Tutu applauds the voice of the people, equating it with
the voice of God, as they rally for peaceful solutions rather than war.
